[Davical-general] Davical and postgresql 9.2.1?

Bobby Krupczak
Hi!

Are you guys aware of any issues with Davical and Postgres 9.2.1?

I'm running into all kinds of database errors and I'm wondering if its
Postgres 9.2.x.  I was speaking with a friend of mine who works on
another open source project that uses Postgres and he said they ran
into issues and had to fix their code for Postgres 9.2.x

Issues so far:

 - PlPgSQL in some of the Davical scripts and .sql files choked; when
I changed them to all lower case, the create-database.sh script
   worked w/o issues

 - When I imported my users from ldap, I ran into a lot of database
errors (I didnt have these errors last year when I was building a
   prototype server with Davical).

    - creating record for users : x, y, z, a, b, c, . . .
There was an error writing to the database.
There was an error writing to the database.
There was an error writing to the database.
There was an error writing to the database.
There was an error writing to the database.
There was an error writing to the database.
There was an error writing to the database.
There was an error writing to the database.
There was an error writing to the database.

Logfile error messages below include lots of these for each user I tried
    to import.

  - I also ran into a lot of errors trying to import .ics calendar
files this time but did not have these issues with my test box
last year.  However, I dont know if these import errors are
related to the erros with creating users.

Any pointers on the sql errors below or suggestions as to why I may
have done wrong in my install?

Thanks,

Bobby

This is not a DAViCal problem ... it looks like you are out of disk space (or quota). You may also have corrupt database (file system problem, disk problem, ...).

I am using DAViCal with PostgreSQL 9.2.3 with not problems (previously I used 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 also without any problems).

Re: Davical and postgresql 9.2.1?

Bobby Krupczak
Hi!

Thanks for the confirmation!

I'm not out of disk space nor quota.  I did see an issue in the mailing list archives with respect to Postgres and the mixed case PlPgSQL.  I edited the various SQL and davical scripts and made them all lowercase.

Do you think that the errors during ldap import are DB errors or ldap config related?  Do you have any pointers for debugging the ldap DB import errors?

Thanks,

Bobby
