[Davical-general] iOS 7 bugs

Ján Máté-2
Hi list,

I finally found a time to debug iOS 7 and here is the list of bugs (maybe it helps you to create workarounds in your installations):

http://www.inf-it.com/fixes/iOS7.txt

Also do not forget to use DAViCal from GIT (or the "extended the $c->default_collections option - added 'calendar_components' and 'default_properties'" patch from http://www.inf-it.com/davical/) for new installations ... example config:

$c->default_collections=array(
    array(
        'type'=>'calendar',
        'name'=>'cal',
        'displayname'=>'%fn',
        'calendar_components'=>array('VEVENT'),
        'default_properties'=>null,
        'privileges'=>null
    ),
    array(
        'type'=>'calendar',
        'name'=>'todo',
        'displayname'=>'%fn',
        'calendar_components'=>array('VTODO'),
        'default_properties'=>null,
        'privileges'=>null
    )
);

For existing installation you need to manually divide your collections to "event collections" & "todo collections", and add correct properties into "property" table (already discussed in the mailing list).

Re: iOS 7 bugs

Graf von Roit zu Hoya
Hello Ján,

only for my understanding: i use DAViCal with the May-Patches from inf-it. My iOS7 devices are all working "out of the box". There where nothing to hassle. Neither on migrated devices (from iOS 6), nor on new installed devices). Events and Todos in my calendar and the contacts work without any issue.

Appear the bugs only with shared resources? I currently don't use them on iOS. When i have to set the "default_collections" in the config?

Best regards,
Rudolf

[Davical-general] CalDAVZap doesn't start on browsers, previously used

Graf von Roit zu Hoya
In reply to this post by Ján Máté-2
Hello,

i run in a very strange problem after upgrading (installing) CalDAVZap
0.10.0rc3. I deleted the old directory containing the previously
CalDAVZap release and unziped the 0.10rc3 to a fresh and empty folder.
Than changed my config.js (language, user notify, MozillaSupport), did a
cache_update.sh only to be sure and tired to access CalDAVZap from Firefox.

Now Firefox crashes immediately after accessing the page. I deleted the
complete cache and the offline storage. After this Firefox asks for the
permission to store offline data and than crash.

Trying this with Chrome, i get a blank page. But in the developer
console i see this:

Document was loaded from Application Cache with manifest
https://calendar.domain.tld/caldavzap/cache.manifest calendar.domain.tld:1
Application Cache Checking event calendar.domain.tld/:1
Application Cache Error event: Manifest fetch failed (-1)
https://calendar.domain.tld/caldavzap/cache.manifest calendar.domain.tld/:1
GET https://calendar.domain.tld/caldavzap/lib/jquery-2.0.2.min.js 404
(Not Found) calendar.domain.tld/:34
Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined jquery.browser.js:10
Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined
jquery-ui-1.10.3.custom.min.js:6
Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined jquery.quicksearch.js:181
Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined
jquery.placeholder-1.1.9.js:195
Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined fullcalendar.js:7200
Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined common.js:23
Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined localization.js:2937
Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined interface.js:22
Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined

The file "cache.manifest" exists on the server and is readable.
Accessing CalDAVZap from a browser which never has accessed CalDAVZap
before works as expected, no problems. So i'm sure, the server setup
works. I cleared all cache and offline data (last only in Firefox, don't
know where i can do this in Chrome), but this didn't help.

Any suggestions?

Best regards,
Rudolf

Hi Rudolf,

looks like wrong mailing list :-)

but the interesting part is:
        Application Cache Error event: Manifest fetch failed (-1)
        GET https://calendar.domain.tld/caldavzap/lib/jquery-2.0.2.min.js 404

=> your browser cannot fetch these files ...

Do you use any cache module in apache? ... if yes try to reload/restart it (depends on used cache module/software).

Oh, i'm so sorry.

but the interesting part is:
	Application Cache Error event: Manifest fetch failed (-1)
	GET https://calendar.domain.tld/caldavzap/lib/jquery-2.0.2.min.js 404

The files exist and are accessable by the web server. On "virgin" browsers i can run and work with caldavzap. Currently i have a Mac mini with Firefox never accessed caldavzap before and works like a charm. My Mac Pro doesn't work with Firefox and Chrome (i previously used to access caldavzap), but works(!) with Safari (i never used before). So i think, they use old (offline or local) data.

Do you use any cache module in apache? ... if yes try to reload/restart it (depends on used cache module/software).
No, i don't. But to be sure i restarted the apache. But didn't help.

Hello Ján,

jquery-2.0.2.min.js doesn't exist on the server. With caldavzap 0.10 the version is jquery-2.0.3. But why Chrome tries to fetch the old one? Starting Chrome i can see for a very short time the message "Waiting for AppStoreData" (or similar). I deleted all browser cache inside Chrome and manually the whole Google-Chrome-Cache-folder inside ~/Library/Caches.

In Firefox i deleted the user profile and started up with a complete new one (on settings, no addons) and removed the ~/Library/Caches/Firefox folder. But Firefox still crashes immediately after asking for the permission to store offline data. BUT: Firefox shows the login screen of caldavzap. But dies after (or while) getting permission for the data store.

Chrome seems not to recognize, that a new version is to load from the server. It uses still the old saved application data. After manually removing the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/Application Cache Chrome now works again. Firefox still dies.

Hello Ján,

Chrome seems not to recognize, that a new version is to load from the server. It uses still the old saved application data. After manually removing the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/Application Cache Chrome now works again. Firefox still dies.

Seems, Firefox 25(!) beta has problems with JavaScript. CalDAVZap and CardDAVmate both die with 25. With 24 all works ok. Didn't realize, that Firefox was silently updated to the new version.

it is possible ... in one of previous versions of FF there was also a similar bug ...

It is also possible that you upgraded from very old version where the automatic cache update was not performed before loading other JavaScript files (now the first called JavaScript is "cache_handler.js" which reloads the page if it was updated even if other JavaScript files are removed).

I will try the latest FF beta and check where is the problem ...
