Re: modification failed while adding events to my calendar

asa
It looks a permission issue, but not sure about the best way can fix this.
Is the editing happen in unix directories or in the database, and what is the best way to set the good permissions?

Thanks.

Any good reason to think that this is a permission error?

The access log files looks OK, Davical uses OPTIONS and PROPFIND HTTP.

OK, seeing this:

> 6.1; WOW64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20120907 Thunderbird/15.0.1 Lightning/1.7"

raises a few questions:
1. You use the example config without even changing the hostname - are
you sure that setting (davical.example.net) is correct and is also
reflected in your DNS-settings?
2. HTTP 405 = 'method not allowed', leading me to think you don't have
support for all required DAV-methods on your webserver. Are you using
Apache (f.e. Nginx is not capable of all DAV methods without plugins)?
Is the webserver built with DAV-capabilities or did you load the module
manually? Issuing a phpinfo() could be useful.
3. From a previous post I gathered you're still on DAViCal 0.9.9.3,
which is quite ancient. Try to upgrade to the latest version.
4. Did you follow the steps in the wiki? There is a lot of information
in there.

Zl.

Re: modification failed while adding events to my calendar

asa
In reply to this post by mgia
I thought that it is may be a permission issue mainly because of the error I see in thunderbird-lightening and attached in the beginning of this conversation.
I can see also the error entries stops once I stop thunderbird, so it stops its attempts of writing I suppose.
As its attempts can be seen in the logs, so no problem in reaching the server itself.
I can see same error from ical too but less often than the one that thunderbird add.

Any suggestion to solve this issue?

Thanks.

Re: modification failed while adding events to my calendar

asa
In reply to this post by Vincent Van Houtte
Thanks. I can now add a new event successfully, but still can't see it in another user calendar even if they share the same group!
I cerated user1(lightning) and user2(ical), and gave them all privileges
Then created group1 and added both user1 and user2 to it, and gave them all permissions to this one too.

Now, start adding new event to User1's calendar, but still can't see any changes in user2's calendar?
What is the missing here?

Here's the logs:
1- adding new event at user1's calendar
user1 [24/Dec/2012:03:21:05 +1100] "PUT /caldav.php/user1/home/8ad80e67-03f1-4c6a-92b3-580b2cec96f8.ics HTTP/1.1" 201 525 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20120907 Thunderbird/15.0.1 Lightning/1.7"
user1 [24/Dec/2012:03:21:06 +1100] "REPORT /caldav.php/user1/home/ HTTP/1.1" 207 1133 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20120907 Thunderbird/15.0.1 Lightning/1.7"

2- Refresh user2's calendar hoping to see the even that I just added, but no success!
user2 [24/Dec/2012:03:21:37 +1100] "PROPFIND /caldav.php/user2/ HTTP/1.1" 207 10456 "-" "DAVKit/4.0.3 (732.2); CalendarStore/4.0.4 (997.7); iCal/4.0.4 (1395.7); Mac OS X/10.6.8 (10K549)"
